Chairman of The Handicrafts and Wood Industry Association of HCM City
BACKGROUND
Mr. Nguyen Chien Thang is the Chairman of Handicraft and Wood Industry Association (HAWA). HAWA was established in 1991 and is a volunteer organization consisting of enterprises that are operating in the fields of pottery, porcelain, bamboo, lacquer ware, fine art, jewelries and gemstones, embroidery and knitting, furniture and interior decoration. They have 150 members which 40% are from handicraft industry and 60% are from wood industry. They play actively in organizing yearly exhibition (such as in HCMC, Frankfurt, High Point, etc), promoting handicraft product, organizing seminars, Apricot Blossom competition for furniture and Lotus competition for handicraft.
